The game studio Fantastic Pixel Castle, led by Greg Street, a former producer of the World of Monsters and Heroes Alliance (known as the Krabs), is open today and will close this month unless there are other investors.
Fantastic Pixel Castle, a 2023 Internet-like Krabs-based workshop, leads the modern phantom MMORPG, code-named “Ghost”.
In LinkedIn, the crab writes: “Fantastic Pixel Castle is expected to be officially closed on November 17th, although we may have some funding later, depending on how many members of the team remain.”
“We certainly want to continue to develop this game, but the first task now is to help our developers find work, whether they join the independent Fantastic Pixel Castle 2.0 or other games or technology companies.”
The Internet has been shrinking investment in game development outside China since last year, the first one to be shut down last year is the closed cherry studio of the Sword Legends of Mana.
This year, the senior game producer Rich Vogel, T-Minus Zero Entertainment, and Mac Walters, author of Quality Effects, created the Worlds Untold studio in Vancouver in 2023, in addition to Jerry Hook, a senior Xbox developer, founded the Jar of Sparks studio in 2022.
At present, the remaining studios in Japan are called “The Dragons of Man” by the name of Viet Nam, and the Grasshopper Manufacte of Suda, the leader of the army. A well-known producer, Kobayashi Kobayashi, is also involved.
In the West, the Network also has a studio created by Quantic Dream, who developed Detroit: The Transformer, and David Vonderhaar, the chief designer of Control and others.
