Pearl Abyss announced that the global sales of the Red Desert had now exceeded 6 million. This milestone was achieved within three months (or 83 days) of the game’s sale. Two million copies were sold on the same day Red Desert was sold and over 5 million in the first month.

Red Desert was launched on 19 March and immediately became a popular piece of Pearl Abyss. In its latest financial report (only a two-week sale of Red Desert was counted), Pearl Abyss stated that Red Desert had generated 266.5 billion won (approximately $178.8 million). Over 80 per cent of the sales came from North America and Europe.
Pearl Abyss predicts that Red Desert revenues will amount to 644.1 billion to 73.4.8 billion won (approximately $432.2 million to $514.4 million) throughout the year. This means that if the performance of the Red Desert reaches the ceiling of Perl Abyss ‘ forecast for 2026, it will receive more than $500 million a year.
According to Pearl Abyss, revenues from the Red Desert are expected to be “even” in the second quarter of 2026, as sales are concentrated in the preceding period. However, the company expects to maintain “stable performance” through continuous patches and updates (it is worth noting that since the Red Desert was launched, Pearl Abyss has issued major updates almost weekly). Red Desert has performed so well that Pearl Abyss has awarded employees a performance bonus of approximately $3400.
Pearl Abyss has just announced a summer content road map and confirmed that the DLC is being developed.
